Types of Braces

Metal Braces

Metal braces are most common. They are made of high grade stainless steel. Today’s braces are much smaller and more comfortable; therefore they are much more attractive. Most of the patients like to dress up the braces with different color elastics that can be changed at each appointment.

Damon® System

The Damon® bracket has sliding door technology known as “self ligation” that allows the wire to slide back and forth within the bracket.   This high technology brace utilizes less friction and light force for the treatment of severely crowded cases.

Clear Ceramic Braces

These translucent, crystal clear brackets are more esthetic than ever before. They are made from single crystal aluminum oxide and offer our patients (especially adults) an alternative to metal braces.

Invisible Braces

Minor tooth movement can be done with braces that are small and hidden behind the teeth.  “Social 6” is designed to provide correction of only the upper or lower six anterior teeth in a comfortable and efficient way.

Invisalign®

Our adult and teen patients can now benefit from orthodontics without the use of braces. Invisalign® uses 3-D computer graphics to straighten teeth by fabricating a series of custom made, nearly invisible, removable appliances called aligners. Patients wear each set of aligners for a minimum of two weeks, their teeth gradually moving until the desired result is achieved. Ask if you are a candidate for this system.
